Effort Underway to Preserve the History, Legacy of Springfield's Lincoln High School
Saturday, July 14, anyone affiliated with the the old Lincoln High School in Springfield is invited to share stories about things like their favorite teachers, how the school impacted their life and the friends they made. Staff will record stories, scan pictures and documents and photograph artifacts. That will take place from 1 to 4 at the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library.
Organizations involved include the Springfield-Greene County Library District, Missouri State University, Drury University, the History Museum on the Square, Greene County Archives and the Springfield Public School District.
The building, now part of the OTC campus, was used as a segregated high school until 1955.
