Local firefighters announced Monday morning they’re endorsing Representative Bob Dixon’s campaign for the Missouri Senate. KSMU’s Jennifer Moore has details.
Dixon, a Republican from Springfield, said he was honored to receive the support of Springfield Firefighters Local 152 and the Missouri State Council of Firefighters.
Dixon added that he did not take a public position on the recent vote to implement a sales tax to help the struggling Springfield Police/Fire Pension Plan. He did, however, support legislation in the Missouri House which required city governments to fund their employees’ pensions.
The primary for that Senate race is in August of next year.
