Before long, you might be able to walk down Bob Barker Street in Springfield. The City Council is considering renaming a section of street after Barker. KSMU's Alvin Chen reports.
The City Council is considering renaming a section of Brower Street from Jefferson Avenue to Sherman Parkway in honor of Barker.
Bob Barker graduated from Drury University in 1947, and is the former host of the popular "The Price is Right" television game show.
Louise Whall, the spokesperson for the City of Springfield, says Drury University made the request of renaming the street after Barker.
Whall says the City Council will look at what impact the renaming would have on the community.
The first public hearing will be held next Monday. At that time, the public can comment on the proposed name change. The final decision will be made by the end of July.
