Arrests Made in Springfield Property Crimes

Two men have been arrested in after Springfield Police noticed what appeared to be the same vehicle involved in several property crimes in the city.

Daria Morris was formally charged with first degree tampering and Paul Martin was officially charged with first degree tampering and receiving stolen property. 

The car, a Chevy Cruze, was recorded by surveillance cameras at targeted areas.  Police discovered the car had been stolen on March 5 from an apartment complex on S. Fort.

Police located the car at a residence in the 1700 block of W. Sunshine, a search warrant for the residence was obtained, evidence seized, and the two men were arrested.

According to police, additional charges will be forthcoming pending the outcome of the investigation.
