This month, the Show Me Poetry Slam will offer a featured set from visiting poet Topaz Winters.

Winters is the Singaporean-American author of So, Stranger (Button Poetry 2022), Portrait of My Body as a Crime I’m Still Committing (Button Poetry 2019), and poems for the sound of the sky before thunder (Math Paper Press 2017). She serves as editor-in-chief of Half Mystic Press, an independent, international, and interdisciplinary publishing project, and as co-editor of Kopi Break, a journal of new Singapore poetry. Her work has been published by Waxwing, The Drift, and Poets.org, profiled in Vogue, The Straits Times, and The Business Times, and performed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Centre for Fiction, and the Singapore Writers Festival. She lives between New York and Singapore.

Doors open at 6:30 pm, with the show starting around 7 pm. The sign-up sheet will be pulled at 7 pm - arrive before then to sign up. The show will be capped at 12 performers. $7 entry fee for audience and judges; $3 entrance fee for performers. $50 cash prize for first place winner; $20 cash prize for second place winner. 21+ only. Attendees will have the opportunity to compete, to judge, or to just relax and listen.
