Adults are invited to attend Community Cornerstone: Building the Public Library at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, in the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library upstairs meeting room, 397 E. Central St.

The Springfield-Greene County Library District has played an integral role in the community for more than a century. While officially established in 1905, the community's efforts to create a public library trace back even further. Join Brian Grubbs, Local History & Genealogy manager, for an exploration of Springfield at the turn of the century and the creation of the Library.
