On Saturday, July 16th, people can learn more about Ozarks history at the Nathan Boone Homestead State Historic Site. KSMU’s Scott Butler has details.
This site, located just north of Ash Grove, is hosting the History and Archaeology Day. This free event will start at 10 a.m. and last until 4 p.m. The event will feature presentations by the historic site staff and special guest speakers.
According to a press release, presenters will speak on aspects of Nathan Boone’s life and career, as well as the history of the farm and the Boone family’s legacy in Missouri.
Nathan Boone Homestead State Historic Site preserves the last home and grave of Nathan Boone, a pioneering frontiersman and the son of Daniel Boone. The historic site is located 1.5 miles north of Ash Grove on State Highway V.
