The 2008 Veterans Day celebration at Missouri State University will take place this morning. KSMU's Alvin Chen reports.

Missouri State Alliance for Veterans is a committee that has planned and hosted the annual Veterans Day celebration since 2003.

Myril Stewart is the chair of the Alliance for Veterans at Missouri State University. He says in addition to honoring all the veterans that have served in the military, there's a special theme for each year's celebration.

This year's theme focusing on the Navy will be the first in a five-part series honoring each branch of the military.

Stewart says Missouri State University has a fine tradition of veterans being part of the campus community.

This year's celebration will start with a free breakfast at 8 o'clock Tuesday morning at Plaster Student Union. Other events include the raising of the flag, and a performance by the United Service Organizations.

For KSMU News, I'm Alvin Chen.
