Springfield broke the daily rainfall record for May 30th. The old 24-hour rainfall record was 2.23 inches, and 2.5 inches fell Thursday at the Springfield-Branson National Airport. The National Weather Service says two to four inches of rain were recorded in various parts of the Ozarks.
And National Weather Service meteorologist Andy Foster says more heavy rain is possible today...

With the possibility of more flooding, the National Weather Service is urging drivers to be careful...

Be especially cautious while driving after dark when it's harder to recognize flood dangers.
Foster says severe weather is possible today and tonight including hail, strong winds and tornadoes.
A flood warning for small streams continues until 7 tonight in Douglas, northeast Taney, northwest Howell, northwest Ozark, southeast Christian, southern Wright and Texas Counties.
A flash flood watch continues through tomorrow morning for much of Southwest Missouri.
