Rainfall has forced the closure of the highway over Table Rock Dam.
The stretch of Highway 265 that goes over the dam is closed. According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, an earth slide occurred near the roadway, about 100 yards north of the dam. The road is closed as a precaution in case a wider area become unstable and renders the road unsafe.The highway is closed from the entrance to the Showboat Branson Belle on the south side of the dam and the Route 265/165 intersection near the Chateau on the Lake entrance on the north side of the dam.MODOT engineers are investigating the slide to determine the extent of the threat to the road.
