Winter Weather Expected to Follow Warm Weekend

Those looking for a little winter weekend getaway may not find a better time than this weekend according to the National Weather Service. KSMU’s Justin Lux reports.

Heading into Saturday, temperatures are expected to rise. Along with plenty of sunshine, temperatures are predicted to climb to 60 degrees Friday.

More of the same is expected Saturday as another front moves in keeping temperatures hovering around the 50’s.

However, Mike Griffin, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service, says to enjoy the short-lived warm temperatures while they last.

“Looks like Old Man Winter will make a return with a vengeance next week. We’re looking at our models through next week and we’re looking at a pretty big Arctic outbreak coming down by the middle part of next week with highs very very cold, once again Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week. So the next couple of days are going to feel pretty nice around here,” Griffin says.

While Griffin explains all signs point to some sort of winter weather, it’s far too early to predict how much snow the area may receive.
