McDaniel Lake Bridge Closed to Motorists

If you use the McDaniel Lake Bridge, you’ll have to find a new way to get to where you’re going.The Greene County Highway Department temporarily closed the bridge Thursday to traffic due to safety concerns.The Highway Department and Missouri Department of Transportation conducted a regular biannual bridge inspection Wednesday, which led to concerns over the bridge’s integrity. A more detailed engineering analysis is underway.In the meantime, motorists need to plan alternate routes around McDaniel Lake.The bridge, located on Farm Road 76 between Farm Rd. 145 and Farm Rd. 151, was constructed in 1929 when the McDaniel Dam was constructed. It spans 403 feet over McDaniel Lake.The bridge remains open to pedestrians.
