Senator Claire McCaskill’s staff will be offering a free grant training seminar for non-profit organizations in Springfield. KSMU’s Ryan Welch has this report.
With the struggling economy, many non-profits are looking for financial help from the state and federal governments. Members of Senator Claire McCaskill’s staff are teaming up with the Community Foundation of the Ozarks to host a grant training seminar to help organizations learn how to compete for grant funding.
The seminar will take place on Tuesday, October 26. The non-profit sector has felt the impact of the recession in several ways. It has seen a decrease in donations, and also had fewer volunteers.
Fortunately, the price tag for the grant training seminar is a nice one: the seminar is free. To find out how to sign up for the seminar, you can call McCaskill’s Springfield office at 868-8745. Registration is limited to the first 100 groups. You can also register online—you’ll find a link on our website: ksmu.org.
For KSMU News, I’m Ryan Welch.
