At 40-feet long, 12 feet tall and 10 feet wide, with six tires nearly as tall as a person, the newest addition to the firefighting force at the Springfield-Branson National Airport is an impressive sight. The brand new Osh Kosh Striker 3000 arrived at the airport in October. It’s twice as big as the other two fire trucks in the airport’s fleet, which hold 1500 gallons of water.The cost: 661,000 thousand dollars—95% of which was funded by the Federal Aviation Administration.Chuck Cowan is aircraft rescue firefighter trainer with the airport…
