COVID-19 positive test results are up at CoxHealth.  On Monday, the healthcare system reported a nearly 43 percent increase in positive tests.  There had been a 33 percent increase in the past seven days and a nearly 18 percent increase since testing started.

CoxHealth president and CEO Steve Edwards said on Twitter, the healthcare system had 113 COVID-19 inpatients, and 21 were no longer in isolation and were recovering.  Ninety-five were at Cox Springfield, 12 were at Cox Branson, four were at Cox Monett and two were at Cox Barton County.

Cox has admitted a total of 1,406 patients to date and has seen 163 total deaths from COVID-19.

Edwards says the vaccine trials are encouraging, but people should not let their guards down.

Mercy Springfield has seen a 26.2 percent positivity rate in patients it has tested over the past seven days, according to Mercy spokeswoman, Sonya Kullmann.  That compares to a 12.85 percent positivity rate since the pandemic began.

There are currently 95 people with COVID-19 at Mercy Springfield, four at Mercy Hospital Cassville, one at Mercy Hospital Aurora, one in Mountain View at Mercy St. Francis and three at Mercy Hospital Lebanon.

To date, 1,076 people have been admitted to Mercy hospitals in southwest Missouri with COVID-19, and 138 of those patients have died.  There have been 120 deaths at Mercy Springfield, four at Mercy Hospital Carthage, four at Mercy Hospital Aurora and 10 at Mercy Hospital Lebanon.
