SPS Superintendent's Contract Extended

Springfield Public Schools

Springfield Public Schools superintendent, Dr. John Jungmann, will head the district for at least another three years.

Jungmann’s contract with the district has been extended through the 2018-2019 school year.  That’s after he received positive results during his annual performance review by the Springfield School Board, according to a news release from SPS.

Springfield School Board president, Dr. Denise Fredrick, says they “continue to be impressed by Dr. Jungmann’s energetic leadership and his focus on offering students engaging, relevant and personal learning experiences.”

One change to the contract:  Starting July 1, 2018 and going through the 2020-2021 school year, each year that Jungmann satisfactorily meets the expectations of the school board and continues his employment with SPS, he’ll be eligible for monetary retention incentives of up to $120,000.

Jungmann was hired July 1, 2014.  In 2015-2016, his annual base pay is $235,000.
