CU Bus Riders Have New Option for Purchasing Passes

People who ride City Utilities buses in Springfield have a new place to purchase bus passes.  Sales started today (11/13) at two Walgreens locations:  at Kansas and Kearney and at Battlefield and Campbell.  Four passes areavailable for purchase:  adult daily pass, $3.75; adult seven-day pass, $13; Adult 31-Day Pass, $45; and elderly (65+), disabled or Medicare card holder 31-day pass, $22.50.

Passes will continue to be sold at the CU Transit office, OTC and MSU Bursar's Office.

In a news release, Chris Jones, CU's director of transit, says they hope to expand to other locations and venues in the future.

In 2013, CU Transit provided 1.5 million rides to customers through fixed route and demand response buses, according to the release.
