Turkey hunters harvested 41,454 birds in Missouri during the 2020 regular spring turkey season and the youth portion.
MDC officials say that’s preliminary data. Last year, a total of 38,795 turkeys were taken during the spring turkey hunting season—both youth and adults.
Top counties were Franklin with 899 birds harvested, Callaway with 699 and Laclede with 651.
There was one report of a non-fatal hunting incident during the most recent turkey hunting season. A hunter accidentally shot another hunter, according to MDC.
