Donations To Help Family That Lost Kids In I-44 Accident Continue To Pour In

Go Fund Me

An online fundraiser to help a Clever family that lost three children in a car accident last week has raised more than $130,000 so far.

The Go Fund Me account, created four days ago, has a goal of $150,000.  At last check, $139,103 had been raised.

The Dobos children, eight-year-old Olivia, seven-year-old Angelina and six-year-old Julia died Thursday when the van they were in hit a semi at I-44 and Chestnut in Springfield.  Six other people were injured in the accident, including five siblings of those killed and their mother, 35-year-old Claudia Dobos.

Marcel Popa organized the fundraiser for his cousin, Ionel Dobos, the children’s father,  to help with funeral expenses and future expenses.
