School officially started today. Opening day enrollment at Missouri State University-Springfield is the largest on record. KSMU's Alvin Chen has more.
The opening-day enrollment at Missouri State University-Springfield has set new records, with 17,671 students. That's 1.4 percent up from last year. The average A-C-T of entering freshmen is 24.2, the highest ever.
Dr. Earle Doman is the acting vice president for student affairs at MSU-Springfield. He says there are some increases in different minority groups and out of state students.
Cheryl Caldwell, Director of University Communications at MSU-West Plains campus, says there's also an obvious increase of enrollment there.
Official enrollment reports will be available Sept. 25th.
For KSMU News, I'm Alvin Chen.
