Voters Decide Statewide Ballot Issues

Voters Tuesday decided four statewide ballot issues.

Constitutional Amendment 3, which would have changed the current nonpartisan selection of Supreme Court and Court of Appeals judges, was overwhelmingly defeated.

Voters said yes to Proposition A, which gives local control to the St. Louis Police Department.

Voters narrowly turned down Proposition B, which would have raised the state’s tobacco taxes.

And Proposition E, which amends Missouri law to prohibit the governor or any state agency from establishing or operating state-based health insurance exchanges unless authorized by a vote of the public or the state legislature, passed Tuesday.
