Harvest Fest continues this weekend at Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park.  A Haunted Trail of Horrors is open tonight and tomorrow night (10/14-10/15) from 6:30 to 10.  The Corn Maze, Pumpkin Patch, cow train, grain train, inflatables, carnival games and more will be open tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday (10/16) from noon to 6 p.m. 

The Christian County Library Spring Book Sale continues through tomorrow (10/15) at the library, 1005 N. 4th St. in Ozark.  Today is the Half Price Sale and tomorrow is Bag Day—a plastic grocery bag of books will be $2.

Romance in the Garden will start at 7 tonight and tomorrow night (10/14-10/15) for anyone 17 and older at the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden.  It will include floating wish lanterns and live classical music.  Admission is $7. 

The 2016 Color Fest Fine Art Exhibition is taking place today and tomorrow (10/14-10/15) from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Ponca Elk Education Center in Ponca, Arkansas featuring live music by John Two Hawks at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. both days.  

The Ozark Folk Festival continues through tomorrow (10/15) at The Aud in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

Adults are invited to a showing of the film, “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies,” tomorrow afternoon (10/15) at 2 at the Republic Branch Library.

Missouri State University’s Homecoming is this weekend.  The Pointer Sisters will be at the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts tonight (10/14) at 8.  The Homecoming Parade will be held tomorrow morning (10/15) at 9 on John Q. Hammons Parkway.  And the MSU Football Bears will host Western Illinois at 2 at Plaster Stadium.

Anyone who wears Missouri State University gear today (10/14) will receive a buy one/get one free discount at the Discovery Center of Springfield.  For details, 862-9910.

The program, “Living the Good Death with Caitlin Doughty” starts at 6 tomorrow night (10/15) at the Library Center.  It’s part of the series, “Death & Dying: Conversations about End-of-Life Matters.”

An Inaugural Concert to celebrate the completion of the Peace Through People Pavilion at Nathanael Greene-Close Memorial Park will start at 4 p.m. tomorrow (10/15).  It will feature Sheila Rios accompanied by Fernando Quintana from Springfield’s Sister City, Tlaquepaque in Mexico.  Admission is free.

The 49th annual Springfield Rock, Gem and Mineral Show will be held tomorrow (10/15) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday (10/16) from 10 a.m.to 6 p.m. at the Springfield Expo Center. 

The ninth annual, “Pets and Pumpkins” event will be held tomorrow (10/15) from noon to 5 on Historic C-Street featuring a parade and costume contest, kids’ games, adoption groups, food, pet themed vendors and more. 

The program, “Fall Tree Identification,” will be held tomorrow morning (10/15) from 9 to 11.  Learn to identify common trees by a variety of methods while taking a guided hike at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.  To register, 888-4237.

The Arc of the Ozarks will host the Trick or Trot 5K and 10K or 1 Mile Fun Run tomorrow (10/15) at Landreth Park in Joplin.  

The fifth annual Monster Dash and Lil’ Monster Dash will be held tomorrow (10/15) at the YMCA’s Camp Wakonda. 

TheCarthage Maple Leaf Festival continues this weekend with a variety of activities. 

The Branson-Hollister Senior Center Board will host a pancake breakfast tomorrow morning (10/15) from 7 to 11 at the Branson Community Center, 201 Compton.  Tickets for adults are $6 at the door.  There will also be a silent auction.  Proceeds will benefit the Branson-Hollister Senior Program. 

The ninth annual Heritage of Hymns Concert will start at 7 tomorrow night (10/15) at the Evangel University Chapel.  It will feature singers from different churches and denominations from across southwest Missouri.  Admission is free, but an offering will be taken.

Parents as Teachers is partnering with other organizations for an event tomorrow for families! Take your bicycle, tricycle or wagon, and decorate yourself and your ride for Halloween.  There will be games, snacks and a parade with prizes for the best costume.
