CoxHealth Is Now Allowing 2 Visitors Per Day In L&D And Postpartum Units

Michele Skalicky

CoxHealth’s visitor policy for patients on its mother and baby units has changed.

Patients on Labor and Delivery and Postpartum units may now have two visitors per day.  One person may stay with the patient 24/7 while they’re in the hospital.  A second visitor is allowed to be present during the baby’s birth but will only be allowed to visit between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. after the mother moves to postpartum status.  Those visitors must be the same two people for the duration of the hospitalization.

Previously, due to the pandemic, CoxHealth allowed only one visitor for the duration of the patient’s stay.

The change affects CoxHealth’s maternity hospitals in Springfield, Branson and Monett. Visitors must be at least 18 years old, remain masked at all times while on campus, pass a temperature and symptom screening when entering the facility and limit their movement to the patient’s room and the public restrooms, according to the health system.
