Flags to Fly at Half-Staff For Marshfield Firefighter, Former Aldermen

Gov. Jay Nixon has ordered that the flags at all state government buildings in Webster County to be flown at half-staff on Wednesday, in honor of a Marshfield fire fighter who died Friday.

63-year-old Deputy Edward Noland Jr. died as the result of duty-related injuries suffered on Dec. 31, 2011 while fighting a brush fire.

A U.S. Army veteran, Noland had joined the Marshfield Fire Department/Fire Protection District in 2000. Noland also had served as an emergency medical technician for CoxHealth; as Webster County deputy coroner; and as a Marshfield city alderman. Read Noland’s obituary here.

Flags will fly at half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Wednesday, the day funeral services for Noland will take place.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Marshfield.  Burial will be in the Marshfield Cemetery.
