Judy Dasovich talks with Marilyn Vincent-McAfee and Gail Smart about the Well of Life Food Pantry.
The Well of Life Food Pantry was started in 2000 when six downtown Springfield churches that saw a need banded together to help the hungry. Gail Smart says their clients are typically unemployed, underemployed and those with disabilities. Last year, from January 13 until mid-December, the organization served more than 6000 people. Food donations are welcome, but Vincent-McAfee says monetary donations are best since they can stretch the dollars a long way when getting food from Ozarks Food Harvest.
