Missouri State University

The Student Showcase, part of Missouri State University’s celebration of Black History Month, is Friday night (2/15) from 5:30 to 7 in the Plaster Student Union  Ballroom.  Missouri State University students will present a night of art, music and entertainment.  Admission is free. 


C.A.R.E. Animal Rescue will host “Find Your Soul Mutt” Friday night (2/8) from 6 to 8 at White River Brewing Company, 505 W. Commercial in Springfield.  It’s a speed dating event—but with dogs.  The event will include refreshments and live music by Louie Michael.

The annual Chili Supper and Silent Auction to benefit the Central High School Kilties will be held Friday night (2/1) from 6 to 8 at Central High School, 423 E. Central in Springfield.  The cost is $7 for all you can eat chili, hot dogs and tea.  The cost for kids 10 and younger is $5. 


The Gillioz Theatre, 325 Park Central East in Springfield, presents guitarist, Jesse Cook, Friday night (1/25) at 8.  Cook is known for his fusion of world music.  Learn more here

The 2019 HBA Home Show is Friday (1/25) from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday (1/26) from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday (1/27) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Springfield Expo Center, 635 E. St. Louis.

The Springfield Conservation Nature Center, 4601 S. Nature Center Way in Springfield, will host an “Owl Prowl and Evening Stroll” Friday night (1/11) from 6 to 9.  Dickerson Park Zoo docents will offer two indoor programs at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m., and the trails will be open and patrolled.  Take a flashlight.
