Music Monday of the Ozarks

Due to health concerns surrounding the current coronavirus pandemic, Music Monday of the Ozarks has decided to cancel their upcoming monthly event on April 6th at the Elks Club in Springfield featuring a history of local songwriter Ronnie Self.   Chris Albert of Music Monday told KSMU it has been "cancelled until a later date.  We at Music Monday hope everyone will stay safe and healthy through these trying times."

Local musician and concert promoter Chris Albert joined us this morning on “Arts News” to talk about “Music Monday of the Ozarks,” the local group of music creators and fan who meet the first Monday of the each month to share in the heritage of music in the Ozarks. Albert is in charge of booking guest speakers for the monthly events.

For the past five years Music Monday of the Ozarks has presented talks by local musicians, and those involved in the production and promotion of local music, the first Monday of the month at University Plaza Hotel and Convention Center in the John Q. Hammons Room. Previously a lunch-hour event, starting with the June event Music Monday will move will move to 6:00pm.
