Yard Work Made Affordable Through Springfield Tool Library

Springfield Tool Library

Keeping a yard or home looking nice can be challenging if you don’t have the right tools. Those looking to improve their outdoor space but in need of the right supplies can borrow them as part of a program offered by the Community Partnership of the Ozarks.

The Springfield Tool Library is the only one of its kind in the state, according to CPO.   Any Springfield resident or community group can check out up to five tools for a week. The project offers a cheaper way to take care of your property, according to CPO.

A library membership is needed to borrow, with a one-year commitment costing $20 or a lifetime membership--$200. Applications for a membership can be submitted online, by mail or in person at CPO, 1471 N. Benton.

Tools available for use range in size from something as small as ear covers to an electric tiller. A full inventory of all Tool Library equipment is available on the CPO website.

The Springfield Tool Library also accepts donated tools and welcomes volunteers to work on community outreach. In addition, the library is able to partner with local businesses looking to sponsor a workshop class.
