Springfield-Greene County Park Board

Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park, 3825 W. Farm Rd. 146, will host Candy Cane Lane Friday through Sunday nights from 5 to 8 November 30 through December 16.  The cost is $5 per vehicle.  Hot cocoa will be available for purchase. 

A Festival of Lights Holiday Skating Exhibitionwill be held Friday (11/30) at 7 p.m. and Saturday (12/1) at 2 p.m. at Mediacom Ice Park.  Admission is $5. 

Evangel University’s 35th annual Christmas Concert is Friday night (11/30) at 6 at the Robert H. Spence Chapel on the Evangel campus.  The Girls Choir of Springfield will be special guests.  Admission is a nonperishable item or a donation to the Salvation Army. 

The Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce presents the Parade of Lights Friday night (11/30) at 6 in downtown Eureka Springs, Arkansas. 

“The Nine Lessons” will start at 7:30 Friday night (11/30) at St. Elizabeth’s Parish Center, 232 Passion Play Rd. in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.  The free, nondenominational Christmas service features scripture, choral pieces and carols. 

The seventh annual Alternative Christmas Gift Fair/Chili Feed will be held Friday (11/30) from 3 to 7 p.m., Saturday (12/1) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday (12/2) from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at South Joplin Christian Church, 1901 S. Pearl in Joplin. 

Comedian Piff the Magic Dragon will present a Holiday Show Friday night (11/30) at 8 at the Gillioz Theatre, 325 Park Central E in downtown Springfield.  Proceeds benefit Toys for Tots. 

Springfield Little Theatre presents “A Christmas Story” through December 9 at the Landers Theatre, 311 E. Walnut in downtown Springfield. 

Ozark Christian College and Joplin’s Stain Glass Theatre will present “A Christmas Carol” Friday through Sunday (11/30-12/2) at 1111 N. Main in Joplin. 

The auxiliary of North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, Arkansas will hold a bake and craft saleFriday (11/30) from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the first floor lobby.  

The Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden at Nathanael Greene-Close Memorial Park, 2400 S. Scenic in Springfield, will be open for "Evening Strolls through the Garden" November 30 through December 22 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.  Admission is $4 for adults and free for anyone 12 and younger with a paid adult. 

The Finley River Park Holiday Drive-Thru is open nightly through December 30 in Finley River Park, located off Highway 14 in Ozark. 

Branson’s Gift of Lights, holiday light display, is open through January 1 on Shepherd of the Hills Expressway. 

The City of Monett’s Christmas light display, Festival of Lights, can be seen nightly through December 31 at Highways 37 and 60 in Monett. 

Drury Jazz Combos I and II will give a concert Friday night (11/30) at 6 at Drury’s C-Street Gallery, 233 E. Commercial in Springfield.  Admission is free. 

Christmas at the Farmstead is Saturday (12/1) from 1 to 3 at the Gray Campbell Farmstead at Nathanael Greene-Close Memorial Park, 2400 S. Scenic in Springfield.  Decorate a tree with handmade vintage ornaments and enjoy hot cocoa, cookies and carols. 

Rescue One will host the Ugly Sweater Christmas Party Saturday night (12/1) at 6 at Historic Firehouse No. 2, 101 E. Commercial St. in Springfield.  The event will include music, food, beer, wine, a silent auction and more.  Those who attend are encouraged to take their dogs. 

A Holiday Train Garden Display is at the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center, 2400 S. Scenic in Springfield, through December 31, Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

The Springfield-Greene County Library will celebrate the holidays this weekend with open houses and a Holiday Store for kids.  An open house will be held Saturday (12/1) from 10 to noon at the Library Center, Library Station and the Republic Branch.  An open house will be held from at the Midtown Carnegie, Schweitzer Brentwood and Strafford Branch Libraries Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Holiday Stores, where kids can purchase inexpensive gifts, open this weekend at most branches.  Learn more here

The Men’s Chorus of the Ozarks will present their holiday concert, “The Gift of Love,”Saturday night (12/1) at 8 and Sunday afternoon (12/2) at 2 at the Springfield Art Museum, 1111 E. Brookside Dr. 

Free ice skating will be offered Saturday night (12/1) from 5:30 to 6:30 at Mediacom Ice Park as part of Springfield’s Festival of Lights.  Skate rental is $3. 

The Springfield Art Museum will host the Avant Art Holiday Open House Saturday (12/1) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1111 E. Brookside Dr.  You’ll be able to shop the museum’s holiday sale, view artwork from artists in Springfield’s Zone 3 and enjoy cider and cookies. 

The Discovery Center of Springfield will host the 31st annual Festival of Trees Saturday night (12/1) at 6 at the center, 438 E. St. Louis. The event will feature a seated dinner, wine and beer, a holiday décor live auction and more. 

Breakfast with Santa will be held Saturday morning (12/1) from 8 to 10 at Drury’s Findlay Student Center.  Join Santa for breakfast and make crafts and decorate cookies.  Registration is required. 

Actor and comedian, Leslie Jordan, will present a show at the Gillioz Theatre, 325 Park Central E in Springfield, Saturday night (12/1) at 8.  Learn more here

The North Arkansas Medical Foundation will host Cocoa, Cookies and Photos with Santa Saturday (12/1) from 9 a.m. to noon in the first floor waiting area at the North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, Arkansas.  Kids can design sugar cookies with Santa’s elves and have their pictures taken with Santa. 

The Eureka Springs Fire Department will bring Santa to Basin Spring Park Saturday (12/1) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Learn more here

John Two Hawks will present a Holiday Concert Saturday night (12/1) at 7 at The Auditorium, 36 S. Main in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. 

Moxie Mornings starts Saturday morning (12/1) at 10 at the Moxie Cinema, 305 S. Campbell in Springfield, for kids two to six-years-old.  The free program includes an innovative short film and hands-on art making. 

The Branson Adoration Parade will be held Saturday at 5 p.m. in downtown Branson starting with the lighting of the nativity scene overlooking Lake Taneycomo. 

Heartland Opera Theatre invites you to watch live opera from the Met, broadcast in HD, Saturday (12/1) at 12:55 p.m. at Regal Northstar Stadium, 201 N. Northpark Ln. in Joplin.  Learn more here

Prairie State Park, 238 NW 150th Lane in Mindenmines, MO, will host a Bison Hike Saturday (12/1) at 1 p.m. 

The program, “Expressions of the Soul,” will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (12/1-12/2) at George Washington Carver National Monument, 5646 Carver Rd. in Diamond, MO.  See images of Carver’s artwork that he used to convey the sense of serenity and personal rejuvenation. 

Joplin Parks and Recreation will present “Movie in the Park—Holiday Edition” Saturday (12/1) at 4 p.m. at Memorial Hall, 212 W. 8th St. in Joplin.  See "Home Alone" on an inflatable movie screen.  Take blankets and chairs. 

The Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts presents Steve Martin and Martin Short Sunday night (12/2) at 7. 

Sunday Make ‘n Play is Sunday (12/2) from 2 to 4 at the Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library for ages three through grade four. 

The Essentials Film Series at the Moxie, 305 S. Campbell in Springfield, features films everyone should see on the big screen.  The series will feature the 1955 film, "The Seven Year Itch," Sunday (12/2) at 3:15 p.m. and Monday (12/3) at 7:15 p.m. 

The Nixa Christmas Parade will start Sunday (12/2) at 2 at the X Center.  The theme is “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”
