  • The 6th Annual Cherry Blossom Kite Festival will be held tomorrow (3/28) from 11 to 3 at the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden at Nathanael Greene Park in Springfield. Take your own kite or make one at the festival for $2. Admission is free.
  • The Missouri State baseball team will face Oral Roberts University tonight (3/27) at 6:30, tomorrow night (3/28) at 7 and Sunday afternoon at 1 at Hammons Field. And the Missouri State Softball Bears will take on Drake University tomorrow and Sunday (3/28-2/29) at noon at the Killian Softball Complex. For ticket information, 836-7678.
  • It’s Astronomy Week at the Discovery Center, and a star party will be held tonight (3/27) from 5 to 8. A Star Lab will be held at 10:30 am, 1, 3:30 and 6:30 pm today. For more information, 862-9910.

  • Learn how to create a habitat for birds in your yard, how to identify them and make a wren house to take home at the Discover Nature Families program “Creating a Bird Haven” tomorrow (3/28) from 2 to 4 at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center. The Nature Center’s Hiking Club will hike through the Mark Twain National Forest at Noblett Lake tomorrow (3/28) from 8:30 to 5. And the Nature Center will offer a class on macro photography tomorrow (3/28) from 9 to noon. To register for any of those programs call the Nature Center at 888-4237.
  • The Greater Ozarks Audubon Society will host a bird watching trip tomorrow (3/28) from 8 to 3 at the Schell-Osage Conservation Area. Meet at 8 am in the Lowe’s parking lot at Highway 13 and Norton Road. Take lunch, drinks and snacks. The trip is free and open to anyone, regardless of bird watching experience.   • Rockaway Beach will hold the 2nd annual Celebration Clean-Up tomorrow (3/28) from 8 to 4. Volunteers are needed to help create new flower beds and planters in the park and on city sidewalks.
