Survey Another Way to Give Feedback on SPS Facility Master Plan

Springfield Public Schools

Following community meetings last month, citizens are now invited to take a survey to provide feedback on facility master planning at Springfield Public Schools.

Earlier this year, a team of facility planning experts from MGT of America began working with SPS officials to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the district’s buildings.

It currently has nearly 60 facilities used in a variety of ways to serve the district’s approximately 25,000 students.

The survey includes 21 questions ranging from how one feels about the conditions of the school their child attends to ratings of the district’s various programs.

The survey is the first of three phases in the planning process, according to the district. Phase 2 will include a facilities assessment, followed by the development of master planning options.

The SPS Board of Education in January approved the contract with MGT of America, Inc. for master planning services, with costs not to exceed $336,145, plus $16,000 for a demographic study.

Results are to be delivered sometime this fall. Citizens can take the survey here. More details on the facility master planning process are outlined here.
