Salt. It’s a mineral that is essential to life on earth. As humans, we cook with it, preserve our food with it, and sometimes even light our rooms with it. But there’s a different salt here in the Ozarks. The power trio SALT is a band made up of guitarist Bobby Gardner, bassist Kim Painter and drummer Ryan Fannin. They describe their sound as raw and original rock. It can be edgy and at times heavy, but coated in melody and thick, glorious harmonies. Be sure to check out the band’s music videos on YouTube. And they’ll be on KSMU’s Studio Live this Friday, July 9, 2021 at noon.
This Friday’s show is going to be special for those of us here at the station because we’ll also bring you the return of Studio Live Social Hour at Tie & Timber Beer Co. After performing on the radio at noon, SALT will bring you an outdoor, in-person show at Tie & Timber from 6 to 8 that same evening.
KSMU, along with Ozarks Public Television, will also celebrate the return of our volunteer program at Studio Live Social Hour beginning at 4 at Tie & Timber. We invite past and current volunteers, as well as those who are interested in becoming a volunteer to come by and fill out our new Volunteer Information Form at the mixer. You’ll receive a new KSMU or OPT volunteer button and the first 50 people to sign up will receive a free movie pass to the Moxie. We’ll also have raffle drawings every 30 minutes.
Friday, July 9, 2021 Events:
- KSMU will host power rock trio SALT on Studio Live at noon, on the air and streaming online.
- KSMU and Ozarks Public Television will host a Volunteer Mixer at Tie & Timber Beer Co., located at 1451 East Cherry in Springfield from 4 to 8 pm.
- SALT will perform live from 6 to 8 pm at Tie & Timber.
