You'll soon be able to see the elk again at Peck Ranch Conservation Area.  The refuge portion of Peck Ranch is set to re-open Friday (8/12).  Part of the area, which included the elk-viewing route, was closed about a month ago due to flood damage.  Access was still allowed to approximately 12,000 acres outside the refuge.

According to a Missouri Conservation news release, most of the roads that had been washed out have been repaired.  Carter County Road P-159, in the southern part of Peck Ranch and one of the routes leading into the refuge is open, but it's still being repaired.

The elk viewing route is open seven days a week during daylight hours.  To learn more, click here.
