Joplin And Springfield-Greene County Health Department Announce COVID-19 Deaths

Another person has died of COVID-19 in Joplin.  The Joplin Health Department said the latest person to die of the illness is a 98-year-old female who was a resident of a Joplin long-term care facility. There have been 35 deaths in Joplin due to COVID-19. 

Two residents of long-term care facilities are the latest deaths from COVID-19 in Greene County, Missouri.  One was a woman in her 60s, and the other was a woman in her 80s.  Sixty-two people have died in Greene County of COVID-19 in October.  There’s been a total of 139 deaths since the pandemic began.

There have been 9,570 cases of the illness in Greene County, and 3,283 of them are active.  As of Monday morning, 165 people were hospitalized in Springfield with COVID-19, and 26 of them were in the ICU.
