Information You'll Need To Run For Springfield City Council Is Now Available

KSMU

If you would like to run for seats on Springfield City Council, you’ll be able to download informational packets starting at 8 a.m. Thursday, October 1.

Seats up for re-election next April include Mayor, Zone1, Zone 4, General Seat A and General Seat B.

Petitions are also available as of 8 Thursday morning, and you’ll be able to attend a virtual information session with the Springfield city clerk.  Petitions must be turned into the city clerk’s office between December 7 and January 19.

You’re eligible to serve if you’re a registered voter in Springfield and have been a resident for at least two years prior to appointment.  You must live in the zone you’re running for at least one year prior to appointment.  You can’t have a felony conviction or owe taxes, and you must have completed and filed Missouri Department of Revenue form 5120.
