Springfield voters will head back to the ballot box on April 2, 2019 for municipal elections.

The Neighborhood Advisory Council is hosting two forums where voters can pose questions to candidates for City Council.

The two forums featuring City Council candidates are:

  • Sunday, March 10 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, located at 3555 South Fremont Avenue
  • Sunday, March 17 at Drury University’s Findlay Student Center, located at 900 North Benton Avenue in Springfield

Both of those Sunday forums run from 2:00 to 5:00 PM and will be moderated by Springfield News-Leader editor and former watchdog reporter Amos Bridges.
The second forum, on March 17, will also feature candidates for the Springfield Public Schools Board of Education – that part starts at 4:00 PM and is hosted by the League of Women Voters of Southwest Missouri.

According to the Neighborhood Advisory Council, City Council candidates scheduled to appear include:

• Zone 2: Abe McGull

• Zone 3: Noah Snelson and Mike Schilling

• Zone 4: Matthew Simpson

• General C: Andrew Lear, Jaye Owens and Amy Champlin

• General D: Richard Ollis

Also, school board candidates Alina Lehnert, Charles Taylor and Shurita Thomas-Tate are scheduled to participate in the moderated forum on March 17 at 4:00 PM, organizers say.
