13-Year-Old Boy Flaunts Obama-Biden Buttons At Rally
On the sidelines of Friday's rally featuring Democratic vice presidential candidate Joseph Biden were the numerous vendors selling Obama-Biden paraphernalia. KSMU’s Jennifer Moore reports.
Hats, shirts, necklaces...and especially buttons.
Among the more creative buttons were pink ones that read, “Hot Chicks Dig Obama,” and others with a picture of an old drive-in diner with a marquee reading, “Obama-Biden.”
One supporter who stood out because of the dozens of buttons pinned to his shirt was a young man by the name of Roberto Sada, who drove all the way from Kansas City with his parents to attend the rally in Springfield.
I caught up with him just after the rally to ask him about his collection.
Sada said he has a total of 36 buttons as of now.
He said he's 13 years old, and that he debates with his teachers often about politics.
He said his favorite button was one that reads, “Got experience?” and had a picture on the Wasilla, Alaska City Hall—a tongue-in-cheek criticism of Republican vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin.
For KSMU News, I’m Jennifer Moore.
