Tax time is just around the corner. KSMU's Missy Shelton reports.
More than half of Missourians who owe taxes already have filed their Missouri income tax returns this year.
And for those who haven't filed yet, the state's Revenue Department Director Trish Vincent has a reminder...
There's an added incentive to file immediately for taxpayers who will receive refunds.
Vincent says the state is getting refunds back to taxpayers quickly.
It was just a few years ago that it took several weeks to get a refund.
Vincent says because the state has more cash on hand, taxpayers are getting their refunds faster.
To speed up the process, Vincent says the state offers online forms for taxpayers who wish to enjoy some of the benefits of electronic filing but don't want to purchase software.
