Dickerson Park Zoo Celebrates Halloween With The Animals

Dickerson Park Zoo

In the midst of a pandemic and with a big election right around the corner, there's something light hearted taking place this week in Springfield to help ease your anxiety.

Visitors to Dickerson Park Zoo will be able to watch animals enjoy Halloween-themed treats.  The treats will range from pumpkin-shaped cakes to pinatas made by zookeepers.

If you go to the zoo in person, you can watch the animals enjoy their treats at 11 a.m. Tuesday through Friday. Each day, the activity will be in a different area of the zoo.  Videos will also be available on Dickerson Park Zoo’s Facebook page.

The zoo is open daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until November 1 when hours will change to 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the winter.
