The City of Springfield is holding a contest to encourage people to wear a mask to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Springfield Mayor Ken McClure announced the contest on Monday. Community members are asked to submit videos on why it’s important to wear a mask. The winning video will be used as a public service announcement on Springfield television stations.
McClure said wearing a mask is the right thing to do to protect others from the coronavirus.
Videos must be submitted by July 15, should be 30 seconds or less and include someone wearing a mask over their mouth and nose. The Springfield-Greene County Health Department and the City of Springfield’s Department Public Information & Civic Engagement will pick five finalists, and the public will vote on them online.
