Dickerson Park Zoo wants everyone to feel connected to its animals even though the facility is closed due to the coronavirus.

The zoo is encouraging kids and adults to write letters to zoo animals. Zoo spokeswoman, Joey Powell, says as many letters as possible will be shared with the animal recipient through Facebook videos.

She encourages kids to write and ask questions, share something they’ve learned after researching an animal or just share what’s on their mind.  The goal, she says, is “to provide something fun, educational and interactive while we are going through this difficult time.”

A list of animals can be found at dickersonparkzoo.org.  Letters should be e-mailed to jpowell@dickersonparkzoo.org.
