A Portion Of The Frisco Highline Trail Will Close In September For Roadwork

The part of the Frisco Highline Trail where it travels under Highway 160 north of Springfield will be closed for about two months.

The closure will start Monday, September 23, so a new box culvert can be built, whcih will carry the trail under the new highway lanes, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.

The trail is expected to be closed until late November.

The highway is being widened to four lanes between I-44 in Springfield and Jackson St. in Willard.

Trail Closed Ahead signs will be installed at the Willard and Springfield trailheads.  There will be other signs posted at the actual closing point that will warn users of the trail closing.

Trail users will have access to the trail on either side of the closing.
