State Senator Lincoln Hough, who just began his first term, has been assigned to serve as vice-chair for the Missouri Senate Appropriations Committee. This committee is responsible for hearings regarding the state’s annual operating budget.

According to a press release from Hough’s office, the senator said transparency and open dialogue are the building blocks when it comes to spending taxpayer money.

In addition to the Appropriations committee, Hough will serve on four other Senate committees:

  • Economic Development
  • Fiscal Oversight
  • Local Government and Elections
  • Ways and Means

Hough, a Republican, represents Senate District 30, which generally encompasses the city of Springfield.
Missouri’s fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30 of each year.
