Springfield City Council Selects Andrew Lear to Fill General Seat C
Springfield has a new City Councilman. Andrew Lear was appointed Thursday to fill General Seat C, according to a release from the city.
The seat opened up after former Councilwoman Kristi Fulnecky resigned, citing as her reason a move outside of Springfield.
Lear will hold that seat until the April 2, 2019 election.
City Council interviewed seven finalists Tuesday. Council members selected Lear in one round of voting. You can view Lear's application for the seat here.
According to the city, Lear is a retired partner of accounting firm BKD. He attended Springfield Public Schools, served on multiple community boards and organizations, including the Springfield Chamber of Commerce and the Springfield Family Y.
