You can get into Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield today (8/25) for free.  The battlefield is joining other National Park sites around the country in celebrating the founding of the National Park Service with a fee-free day.

NPS was established August 25, 2016 and cares for more than 400 national park areas, which preserve the nation’s natural, historical and cultural heritage.  The fee-free designation applies only to entrance fees.

Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield preserves and commemorates the first major battle of the Civil War in the West.   The 1,920-acre battlefield is located 10 miles southwest of Springfield, Missouri at the intersection of ZZ Highway and Farm Road 182.  For more information, 732-2662.
