Springfield Expanding Sister Cities Program to Ireland

http://ozarkspub.vo.llnwd.net/o37/KSMU/audio/mp3/springfiel_465.mp3

Springfield has sister cities in Japan and Mexico, but is looking to add to that family. A town in Ireland may be the next sister city for Springfield. KSMU's Jana Greer has more on how you can help make that decision.

People in Springfield may soon have a chance to hear more of this type of music. Members of the Sister Cities Association are discussing whether a town in Ireland should be one of Springfield's sister cities. David Trippe is the President of the Irish Festival Association. He says it would be a perfect fit for Springfield.

Trippee says this is a great opportunity for people in Springfield as well as people in Ireland.

The Sister Cities Association wants input from the public about what Irish city they would like to see become a sister city. A table will be set up at Park Central Square on Saturday during the St. Patrick's Day Parade. There members of the public will have the opportunity to give their ideas to the association and get more information about the Sister Cities program.
