A variety of wines, ports and jellies from Missouri State University's Mountain Grove Vineyards can now be bought at the click of a mouse. The university recently created a website so the public can get a taste of what faculty and students have created. KSMU's Jana Greer has more

Missouri State University entered its first wine competition last year and won a bronze medal for one of its ports. That particular port is just one of the items you'll now find available to purchase online. You can also find several other wines as well as butters and jellies. Anson Elliot is the Head of the Agriculture Department at Missouri State and the Director of the Mountain Grove Campus. He says you can expect to see products on the website vary as seasons change and as new products are made.

All of the proceeds from the website sales will benefit students and faculty by going back into the program. But Elliot says he doesn't intend for the website to compete with larger wine companies.

The Missouri State Agriculture Department operates the Missouri State Fruit Experiment Station in Mountain Grove. That includes the Center for Grapevine Technology and the Mountain Grove Cellars. To see its website you can use the link at KSMU.org
