Missouri State University Will Thank Local Communities for Their Support

This spring Missouri State University will thank surrounding communities for their support through a Community Caravan. Members of the university will spend three weeks traveling to different communities in Southwest Missouri. KSMU's Jana Greer has more

During the first few weeks of April members of Missouri State University will travel to eight different locations in Southwest Missouri. The theme of the caravan is "What the Public Affairs Mission Means to You" and the purpose is to highlight the relationships between the communities and the university. The university also aims to say thank you for community support. Michael Nietzel is the President of Missouri State University. He explains what the communities can expect from the caravan.

University officials will work with local planning committees to plan an all day event at each location. Nietzel says he hopes to show the communities how much their support is appreciated.

This is Missouri State's first Community Caravan, but will not be the last. The university plans to make the caravan an annual event that may be extended to more areas in future years.
