Wilson's Creek National Battlefield to Modify Management Plan
Wilson's Creek National Battlefield is seeking public input on what the park should do with newly acquired land. KSMU's Missy Shelton reports.
The park is modifying its general management plan.
Ted Hillmer is superintendent of Wilson's Creek National Battlefield.
He describes the land the battlefield has acquired.
Hillmer says he's looking for public input on what to do with the artifacts from the Sweeney Museum and how to present them to visitors.
Hillmer says the public will also help decide what to do with the actual land the battlefield has acquired.
He says the 154 acres of land southwest of the park is important to civil war and pre-civil war history.
The battlefield has hired a management team to collect public input on the general management plan.
