Freedom From Slavery Celebrated Saturday
The African American community invites the public to celebrate "Juneteenth" Saturday at Sliver Springs Park.

5th Annual Juneteenth Celebration of Life and Freedom

The Ministers' Coalition of Springfield, Inc. is pleased to again host this year's Juneteenth celebration. This fun-filled, family-friendly cultural event, is one in which we can truly celebrate life and freedom. By combining the festive activities and history of Juneteenth with opportunities for access to community and health information/screenings, you'll have a great time, while also learning to enhance life for your loved ones and yourself.
The event will take place this Saturday, June 17, 2006, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., at Silver Springs Park (1100 N. Hampton).
Activities will include live performances by VIP Ministries recording artist P-Air, as well as the Springfield Mass Community Choir, under the direction of Mr. Arthur Duncan. There will also be great prize drawings and freebies for kids and adults. Everyone is welcome! This event is free and open to the public, so come out and join us.
